Sullivan Papain Block McGrath & Cannavo P.C. continues to lead the six-year fight to compensate firefighters injured by the City of New York’s failure to equip them with the appropriate respiratory protection during the World Trade Center collapses and rescue/recovery. As the following Daily News article explains, Sullivan Papain exposed the City’s effort to hide the existence of a 1998 City program mandating that firefighters be issued respiratory protection for foreseeable emergencies, including building collapses. The head of FDNY OSHA admitted, under questioning by Sullivan Papain, not knowing anything about the respiratory protection program until 2002, months after 9/11.
